Richard N. Zare
Prof. Richard N. Zare is the member of the National Academy of Sciences, USA, the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and the European Academy of Sciences, as well as the foreign member of the Royal Society, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Swedish Royal Academy of Engineering Sciences. He is also the winner of the Wolf Prize in Chemistry. Now he is the dean of the Department of Chemistry in Stanford University.
Professor Zare is renowned for his research in the area of laser chemistry with deep understanding of chemical reactions at the molecular level. His experimental and theoretical studies have made essential contributions to our knowledge of molecular collision processes and solved a variety of problems in chemical analysis. His development of laser induced fluorescence as a method for studying reaction dynamics has been widely adopted in many other laboratories.
