Jingguang Chen
Jingguang Chen is the Thayer Lindsley Professor of chemical engineering at Columbia University. He is also a Thousand Talent Professor at Tsinghua University. He received his BS degree from Nanjing University. He was selected for the China-USA Chemistry Graduate Program and received his PhD degree from the University of Pittsburgh. After spending one year as a Humboldt postdoctoral fellow in Julich, Germany, he took the position of staff scientist at Exxon Corporate Research. He started his academic career at the University of Delaware during 1998 - 2012, where he served as the Director of the Center for Catalytic Science and Technology and the Claire LeClaire Professor of chemical engineering. He is the coauthor of 21 United States patents and 330 journal articles with over 14,000 citations. He received many catalysis awards, including the 2015 George Olah Award from the American Chemical Society and the 2017 Robert Burwell Lectureship in Catalysis from the North American Catalysis Society. He was elected to be the President of the North American Catalysis Society in 2017.
